Ways to Help

At HOPE Ministries, we believe that everyone has something valuable to offer in the journey toward creating a stronger, more self-sufficient community. Whether it’s sharing your time, skills, or financial resources, your involvement makes a real difference for our neighbors in need.

Here are a few ways you can help make a meaningful impact:

Volunteer Your Time

Join our team of dedicated volunteers and experience the joy of giving back. Whether you’re helping in our Client Choice Food Pantry, assisting with job training workshops, or lending a hand at events, your efforts directly contribute to empowering individuals and families to achieve stability and independence.

Support Financially

Your generosity helps sustain essential programs and services at HOPE Ministries. Every dollar you give provides critical resources—from food and job training to housing assistance and more. Together, we can break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.

Give Through Your IRA (QCD)

If you’re age 70½ or older, making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA is a simple and tax-advantaged way to support HOPE Ministries of Baton Rouge.

A QCD allows you to transfer funds directly from your IRA to a qualified nonprofit like HOPE - without counting the distribution as taxable income. It can also help you meet your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.

How It Works:

  • Contact your IRA administrator and request a Qualified Charitable Distribution to HOPE Ministries.

  • The funds must be sent directly from your IRA custodian to HOPE (not through you personally).

  • You may contribute up to $100,000 per year through a QCD.

  • The amount distributed to HOPE will not be taxed as income.

Send QCDs to:

HOPE Ministries of Baton Rouge
4643 Winbourne Ave
Baton Rouge, LA 70805
EIN: 42-512992

To ensure your gift is acknowledged correctly - or designated for a specific program - ask your IRA administrator to include your name and any preferences in the memo line. You’re also welcome to notify us directly once the distribution is sent.
