Understanding the Dynamics of Poverty

HOPE’s professional development training, Understanding the Dynamics of Poverty©, is a six-hour interactive training for social workers, teachers, clergy, nonprofit leaders, and anyone who wants to understand how generational poverty impacts our community. Topics such as the causes of poverty, quality of life indicators, effects of language on poverty, challenges of budgeting, and learned behaviors are covered in great detail, helping participants appreciate the differences in people coming from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. These workshops are held throughout Louisiana.

The Understanding the Dynamics of Poverty© training is approved for six (6) hours of general continuing education by the National Association of Social Workers, Louisiana Chapter as authorized by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.
