TWTW October Career Fair

We’re thrilled to bring our Career Fair back to the Goodwood Library on Tuesday, October 28 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This free, community-wide event is the perfect opportunity to connect face-to-face with employers, learn about current job openings, and discover pathways to training and career advancement.

What to Expect:

  • Meet Local Employers – A variety of businesses and organizations will be on-site and ready to share information about available positions.

  • Learn About Career Training – Representatives from training programs and educational institutions will be available to talk about certifications, short-term training options, and ways to build your skills.

  • Make Connections – Network with hiring professionals, ask questions, and learn what employers are looking for in candidates.

  • Open to All – Whether you are currently job-seeking, thinking about a career change, or exploring future opportunities, this event is for you.

Understanding the Dynamics of Poverty

HOPE’s professional development training, Understanding the Dynamics of Poverty©, is a six-hour interactive training for social workers, teachers, clergy, nonprofit leaders, and anyone who wants to understand how generational poverty impacts our community. Topics such as the causes of poverty, quality of life indicators, effects of language on poverty, challenges of budgeting, and learned behaviors are covered in great detail, helping participants appreciate the differences in people coming from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. These workshops are held throughout Louisiana.

The Understanding the Dynamics of Poverty© training is approved for six (6) hours of general continuing education by the National Association of Social Workers, Louisiana Chapter as authorized by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.

Taste of HOPE - 2026 Annual Fundraiser
